- Real Estate Portfolio Strategic Planning
- Responsible for the company’s global corporate strategic real estate plan which aligns real estate decisions and investments with company’s goals and maximizes the real estate portfolio value.
- Forecast demand for scenario planning, developing business cases, and analysis to support real estate investment and divestiture.
- Assist in determining the short and long-term strategies for various assets.
- Develop financial analyses (including cash flow forecasts, NPV, P&L impact and/or IRR) to determine the financial impact and economic value of scenarios.
- Manage real estate capital planning, for the REWS team, including leading the annual development of 5-year plan and 12 month-look ahead, partnering with Workplace team, Finance and other REWS stakeholders.
- Support other strategic projects as indicated by the company’s goals and objectives.
- Portfolio Management & Reporting
- Lead real estate and acquisition and disposition workstreams, working closely with REWS, other divisions at BMRN and external brokers.
- Prepare portfolio reports for internal stakeholders and internal communication channel.
- Develop tools to monitor and manage portfolio performance.
- Provide decision makers with data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize global real estate portfolio and mitigate risks and capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Portfolio Administration
- Maintain the leased and owned real estate database, including regular meetings with our third-party lease administrator.
- Manage the leased real estate portfolio, including collaboration with legal, finance, and accounting to ensure sufficient time for lease renewals, extensions, and terminations.
- Coordinate with RESPM leadership on upcoming lease expiration dates and preparation of scenario options for the location.
- Stay abreast of commercial real estate trends in markets where BioMarin has significant presence
- Education: BS/BA degree, or higher-level degree, in a relevant area, such as Corporate Real Estate (in house or via consulting), Business Administration, Finance, Economics
- 4 or more years’ relevant business experience
- Financial acumen with strong financial modeling, data analysis, and executive presentation skills
- Visual presentation skills, such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Biotech/Pharma experience is a plus
